Mitt Romney does a robocall. Hilarity ensues.

I moved to Florida recently from Illinois, and still have my Illinois number and area code as my primary number.  Thus, I've been spared cold calls from either campaign, as well as robocalls.  For others in swing states, they have been getting robocalled, and that seems to be on the increase.

The Romney campaign is using robocalls in North Carolina at least, and I have a good story to relate about that from a friend of mine, below the Croissant of Infinite Justice.

My friend reports this from a forum we both frequent:

So Mitt Romney calls me at lunch, and fails miserably, because he tried to make it "personal" by addressing me by my first name.

Sadly, my first name is not Jeremy.

I have to say, if the technology allows for "personalized" robocalls, then the technology has improved since 2004, the last time I remember receiving a robocall (Florida again, but this time we had a landline with a Sarasota area code.)  Of course that technology is only as good as the voter list, or the transcriber.  My friend's name is Tim; no "Jeremy" lives in his home, nor did prior to Tim moving into the house!

But wait, there's more:

I would have corrected him, but he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise.
But such is the miracle of modern robocall technology: it perfectly captures Mitt Romney's peremptory, hectoring nature!

I hope this is just the start of many more robocall fails by the Romney campaign!
